The "Standard Microfluidic Chip" is a microchip that has been finely processed to be suitable for lab-on-a-chip applications. It features micron-level channels and holes that are finely processed on a microchip measuring a few centimeters square. The lab-on-a-chip technology, which conducts various chemical reactions and analyses using these microchannels and microarrays, has the advantage of requiring only small amounts of samples and reagents, enabling experiments and analyses to be performed in a short time. This has led to increasing attention on applications such as microTAS (micro total analysis systems).
